There have been many other attempts at bringing in technology into the shopping experience, and Google glasses were one of them. Somehow they always fall flat on the reality. Yes, beacons could be a great feature for engagement, but the thought of going into a store only to leave empty handed is a bit lame. It’s just taken the mobile experience (which hasn’t) worked for groceries and taken that into a less practical wearable form. I don’t understand why we cannot use the shop assistant to help the process and make it a human interaction using the technology available. Make him or her your personal shopper, armed with an iPad and able to select menus and then mail you menus.
